'We mean business' event! 12th June 2008, London

Business Link in London is working with Women’s Junction to deliver this free inspirational event to empower the Capital’s female run small and medium enterprises. 

Following the success of our 'We mean business' event in March 2008, Business Link in London is organising a sequel to help the Capital's female entrepreneurs feel empowered to grow and develop their business.

200 business women will gather at the ‘We mean business’ event on the 12th June is being held at Guoman Tower Hotel, Tower Bridge.  The night will feature inspirational speaker Liz Jackson who will tell her extraordinary story of how she grew her business 'Great Guns' to turnover more than £2.5 million today.

There will be also be informative workshops on popular business topics running throughout the evening, delivered by specialist Business Link in London advisers.

In addition, there will be lots of opportunity to network with fellow female SME’s as well as a selection of widely recognised exhibitors.

Why network?

Networking is the best way for micro and small businesses to find new customers - fact. And the stats don't lie: Small businesses in London find over 70% of their new business through networking or direct referral (LDA).  And women are much more effective networkers than their male colleagues, mainly because networking is actually about listening, rather than talking.

But networking does have negative connotations; smarmy people with bright teeth, trying to suck the life out of your wallet. We prefer to think of Women's Junction as a networking, marketing and business referral organisation. Networking is the chance to make that first face-to-face introduction. Regular attendance means the chance to win new work through direct business referral and third-party recommendation.
